Can You Spare 1 Day to Help Clean Up Your Beach?
1 comment so farNext month on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2011 from 9AM-NOON the California Coastal Commission will once again host its annual “Coastal Cleanup Day.” This event that starts at 9 in the morning and ends at 12 noon was a raging success last year and in fact had over 82,500 volunteers and between them removed more than 1.2 million pounds of trash and recyclables from our beaches, lakes, and waterways!
If you like using reusable shopping bags, love your state, care about cleaning up where you live, and want to get out and meet some like minded people like yourself then we urge you to get involved!
Getting involved is as easy as 1,2,3!
1) Find a clean up
2) Show up
3) Clean up
For more information on getting started see the California Coastal Commission Web site.
See you at the beach

This is a great Idea and a great cause. I urge everyone reading to get behind it. There are so many beautiful beaches out there. Keep them clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. Make it a group or family activity. Pack a lunch and make a day of it. See you out there!
